“The Charleston Silver Lady” – Lexington County Chronicle & The Dispatch News #silver

TSI editor’s note: It is fun to find local news stories about silver, and this one comes from the Lexington County Chronicle of South Carolina. In the article, Dawn Corley, who also goes by the alias “The Silver Lady,” explains to readers the value of silver: “Many times silver such as this was gifted as a polite and discreet way to pass monetary stability from one generation to the next. This was most often done at weddings as the silver acted as a sort of dowry.” There are a lot more people out there who still appreciate the value and history of silver beyond the COMEX pricing scheme.
